During the Mid-term weeks in February I went to Smithfield in Dublin to do a week of work experience with Dublin Simon. I worked in a charity shop on Camden Street from 10a.m. to 4p.m. from Monday to Friday. I got to meet new people working in Simon who were all very nice and told me how to operate procedures such as separating donations out and selling items from the shop.
Overall the experience was fantastic and it was a great way to spend my mid-term week. I am also welcome to return in the future which I am very happy to.

From the 25th to 28th of October, I worked at the Avoca Café and Restaurant in Powerscourt, Co. Wicklow. I worked from 9:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. for the four days. My main role was floor management. I would clean up after customers had finished eating their meals or drinking their coffee. I also occasionally swept the floors and did many jobs in the kitchen. The manager there was called Andrew and there were many other employees there who were very friendly and much older than myself. The location of my work experience was convenient as I was only five minutes away from my house in Enniskerry. The experience want to think about what I wanted to do after secondary school. I enjoyed the work experience while it lasted and hope to work there again in the future.
